Jacob at Gymnastics
Gymnastics class is a lot of fun!
This was Jacob's first day at Gymnastics. He had a great time going around the circuit they had set up. He did a great job following the directions to touch every circle. I also was impressed with his balance beam.Tuesday, August 12, 2008
Having fun with my food
We have been having fun with food... Up first is sweet potatoes, Joshua got excited and flipped the spoon, and they landed on his forehead. He was disappointed. Then he opened his mouth as to say, "try again".

Today he tried peas for the first time. He grabbed the spoon and tried to feed himself. He actually did a good job!

Joshua is 5 months now!
Joshua is growing up fast! He is starting to "army crawl" pulling himself by his arms and pushing with his legs, but still keeping that tummy on the ground. He got himself over to a toy he wanted today. Mommy is not ready for him to be mobile quite yet.
He is eating like a champ and he loves his new "solid" foods. He is a very happy baby and smiles at just about everyone he meets.
A trip to the park
Last Sunday, we went on an outing to the park. When we asked Jacob if he wanted to go to the park, he said "no thanks". We were baffled by his polite refusal. On the way home, Jon and I said to each other that he probably will say "yes please" next time. Here is Jacob and Daddy running the hills, and Jacob learning to throw the ball up in the air.

Puddle fun
Sunday, just before dinner, we got a quick rain storm. Just enough to create a puddle in the backyard. We went out to throw whippersnappers, and have the kids watch them. When we were done, we set the kids down and before we knew it, Rachel and Jacob were splashing around. A bath was the next activity.

Sunday afternoon
It is amazing how fast they grow, so here is a glimpse at the boys this afternoon. The first video is Joshua laying on the Boppy pillow and Jacob comes over to say hi. Next is Jacob having fun on his slide.

It is hot, hot, hot...
It's the last day of June, and it is HOT! Jacob and I went out front to look at the blooms on the Trico cactus, and at 9 am it was already 98 degrees. It was also really bright and he didn't want to be outside. Here are a few pictures I took, but since Jacob was done being outside, he didn't want to smile for the camera.

Jacob's new crayons
A watched baby never rolls...
So on Sunday afternoon Joshua was on the floor rolling around. Daddy hadn't seen Joshua roll yet, so he really wanted to see Joshua roll and capture it on video.
So, of course when you point the camera at him, he decided he didn't want to roll.

The beginning...
This is my first post describing the happenings around our home.
Jacob and Joshua are growing fast. Jacob is 2, soon to be 2 1/2. Joshua is 3 1/2 months.
Thursday, June 19th, Joshua rolled from his back to his front. The only problem was that when he got to his front, he was so frustrated because he doesn't like tummy time.
Also another big event was the switching of car seats. Jacob got a big boy seat that will be his last car seat he needs and Joshua is now out of the infant bucket and into a rear facing convertible seat.
